~Personality:
A very kind and polite girl she treats everyone with proper manners and over all cute habits. She is one to flatter and point out the beauty in individuals even if they don't believe it and loves to spend time with new people. Although don't let her sweet appearance throw you off guard. She may seem like a gentle soul on the outside but truthfully she's a sadistic little bug who would love nothing more than to sink your ship and watch you struggle as you drown in the chilled waters below.

~History:
For ages she soared over the oceans causing chaos for sea goers. With a single pretty song from her beak and flap of her wing she would sink whole ships and enjoy the sight of the passengers struggling to stay alive. She will admit those were her more darker days, but after witnessing a small child drown after something she caused she can no longer manage to cause such great pain. It just hit her really hard and she isn't sure why it did.
In an attempt to start a new life where she would be good she learned to live with humans. For another many years she blended in with them and would visit her friends and tell them of all the exciting things she had learned out in the human world. It was a joyous time and she had never felt happier. Well until she met Maxwell that is.
Maxwell seemed to be a kind boy that gained Mortina's trust and even her first kiss. She loved Maxwell and believed they were going to be together forever. Just on issue. Maxwell was human. She didn't like keeping it a secret from Maxwell what she truly was and when the time was right she showed him. To her surprise he said he already knew and had known for a while.
This should have turned out great no? Wrong. Maxwell had been hunting Mortina because of what she truly was. The wings of her species sold for a good price on the black market and he believed he really needed that money. Before she could escape The young girl was grabbed and held down by much bigger men who cruelly cut her wings from her body. She begged and cried out to Maxwell but all he did was stand there with his back turned to her.
Left laying in an alley she felt a greater pain at being betrayed then the pain of the nubs on her back that had once been her wings. Soon after the attack she realized with out her wings she couldn't morph back into her true form and fly away to safety. Instead she just sat there in the alley by herself and cried.
Surely you would think her story would end here no? Wrong again. A man named Valentine heard the girls cries and found her in the alley where she had been left to die. Taking pity on the poor girl he discovered she was a sweet soul and revealed to her that he to was not human. In fact he was a powerful creature capable of healing her wounds and giving back her wings. The only side effect it would take years off his life. She didn't want half Valentines life but he insisted and with his kindness and most of his strength he helped Mortina grow a new pair of wings.
Mortina and Valentine naturally grew close after this and even became engaged a year after their chance encounter. Sadly though it turned out Valentine had been kind to other strangers as well and his many halved lives caught up to him. Again Mortina was left alone in a way and found comfort in her friends.
When exploring the human world she met an odd group of creatures who she felt comfortable with. After sharing a few kind words and a snack Mortina followed them back to their school and decided to enlist. Maybe this could be another second chance?
